🌿 Understanding the Meaning

The First

He has no beginning. He was not born, and He was not created.

Help children connect this deep Name to daily life, focusing on their feelings, family relationships, nature, kindness, patience, or gratitude:

·        The source of everything: Everything around us—the tall trees, our families, even the passage of time—had a starting point. But Allah is Al-Awwal. He was there before anything else existed, and He created the very beginning of everything.

·        Putting Allah first: Because Allah is the First, we can practice putting Him first in our hearts by starting our day with His remembrance and beginning our actions with Bismillah (in the name of Allah).

✍️ Writing the Name

Choose the option that fits your child's learning style, keeping in mind that gentle repetition builds familiarity over time:

·        For Younger Students: Tactile Writing

🖐️ Build or shape the letters of the Name using playdough, clay, pipe cleaners, or textured materials.

·        For Developing Writers: Tracing Practice

✏️ Trace the Name slowly, following the guided lines smoothly while pronouncing it aloud.

·        For Older Students: Copy Work

Building a Beginning: Invite your child to build a model of a masjid using Lego, popsicle sticks, or recycled materials. As they build, contemplate together how every structure and object has a clear beginning and a source—and discuss why Al-Awwal is uniquely the only One who does not.

Before bed, wrap up your day intentionally:
