Sensory & Kinesthetic Expansion Guide

As an educator with over 30 years of experience, I know that children learn best when they move. Use these activities to turn a worksheet into a lasting memory.

Book 6: Safety & Balance

Names: Al-Mu’min, Al-Muhaymin, Al-Qaabith & Al-Baasit, etc.

🏃 The "Expansion Stretch" (Kinesthetic): For the pair Al-Qaabith (The Withholder) and Al-Baasit (The Extender), have the child curl into a tiny ball, then stretch their arms out as wide as possible to feel the physical concept of contraction and expansion.

🛡️ The "Safety Shield" (Creative/Kinesthetic): For Al-Muhaymin (The Protector), have the child build a "fort" out of cushions and sit inside to experience the cozy sensation of being guarded and safe.

🧠 Anatomical Inquiry (Cognitive): For Al-Muhaymin (The Ever-Watchful), select a biological system—like the heart or lungs—to research. Discuss how these systems work "behind the scenes" to keep us safe, then reconstruct them using modeling clay.

Book 6 Overview: Safety & Balance

  • The Names we learn: This set covers Al-Mu’min (The Giver of Faith) and the paired Names Al-Qaabith and Al-Baasit.
  • Structured for learning: The names are grouped intentionally to help children understand how Allah's attributes balance one another (like expansion and contraction).
  • Who it’s for: Best for children ready to explore slightly more complex concepts of emotional and physical balance.
