🌱 Simple Activity Idea
The Al-Barr Blessing Display
Objective: To create a visual family display that recognizes and
celebrates the unasked-for, everyday blessings given to us by Al-Barr
(The Source of All Goodness).
Step
1: The Big Discussion. Talk as a
family about how Allah is Al-Barr—He is so deeply kind and generous that He
gives us thousands of gifts every day that we never even thought to ask for.
Step
2: Brainstorm the "Unasked" Blessings. Ask your children to think about things our bodies or minds
do automatically. Examples include:
Our
Senses: The ability to taste our favorite
food, see colors, or hear birds singing.
Our
Bodies: A heartbeat that pumps blood while
we sleep, lungs that breathe automatically, or feet that balance us perfectly.
The
World: The sun rising every morning,
gravity keeping us grounded, or oxygen to breathe.
Step
3: Create the Display. Work
together to create a central family display (such as a poster board, a
dedicated bulletin board, or paper cutouts on the fridge) titled: "The
Unasked Blessings of Al-Barr."
Step
4: Add to the Display. Have each
family member draw or write down these automatic blessings on the display as a
daily reminder of His endless kindness.
🌙 Bedtime Connection
Read the poem or nasheed softly before bed.
Encourage children to:
• Make their own short poem
• Create a simple nasheed
• Repeat the Name in quiet reflection before sleep
