A Meaningful Gift for My Granddaughters
Why I Wrote ‘Ummat-ul-Mo'mineen’
As a grandmother and an educator with over 30 years in the classroom, I’ve often noticed a gap in our children’s libraries. We have many beautiful stories about our Prophets, but the incredible women who stood by them—the Ummat-ul-Mo'mineen—are often left in the background.
I didn't want my granddaughter to grow up seeing these historical figures as distant or misunderstood. I wanted her to feel a deep, personal connection to them. I wanted her to know that she has 'Mothers' who were scholars, leaders, and pillars of strength.
That’s why I wrote Ummat-ul-Mo'mineen: Mothers of the Believers.
