About Learning Keel

Navigating the Waves of Education

Parenting and teaching in today’s world often feels like being tossed about by a storm. Between shifting curricula, digital distractions, and the pressure of "educational fads," it’s easy to feel like you’re losing your heading.

At Learning Keel, we believe learning is a winding river, not a paved highway. It requires us to constantly read the water—sometimes digging in deep to power through a rapid, other times back-paddling to avoid a snag and stabilize our center.

30 Years in the Trenches

I’ve spent 30 years in the trenches of education and homeschooling. I know these "choppy waters" well. I’ve seen the fads come and go, and I’ve learned that a steady journey doesn’t require a massive vessel or an expensive crew. It requires a solid foundation.

My mission is to help you cut through the waves of distraction by focusing on the fundamentals:

Core Literacy & Numeracy: The sturdy hull that keeps you afloat.

Emotional Navigation: The balance and "edge" needed to stay upright.

Lighthouse Moments: Those flashes of clarity where a child’s ideas finally click.

Simple Tools, Deep Waters

You don’t need high-priced personal tutoring or complex, boxed curricula to succeed. True discovery is often found in the simple, rhythmic stroke of a paddle: in free library resources, homemade sensory experiences, and the connection of a family game night.

There is a time for the manual, but the real magic happens when you strap on your lifejacket and push off from the shore. You can study the theory of a stroke for years, but you only truly understand the water when you feel the resistance against your blade.

Learning Keel is here to provide the proven resources and steady guidance you need to keep your students—and yourself—centered.

Grab your paddle. Let’s navigate this journey together.
